Hey Fashionistas! It’s not quite the ‘Vogue Africa dream’ we hope for but we’re getting closer right? Grazia Weekly is launching in South Africa and I’m so thrilled. The publication which will be the 20th international edition will cover fashion, celebrity news, beauty, lifestyle and entertainment.

Editor of Grazia South Africa Danielle Weakley says that, “stylish, inquisitive and glamorous” South African women are “eager for an editorial fix that’s more relevant, more up-to-the-minute and more in tune with their ever-changing tastes than a monthly… They read the monthlies, but they want more. Grazia [is] the gloss of a fashion magazine with the pace of a news weekly” 

Does RubysView.com have any readers in South Africa? I’d love to see the first issue. I’m super excited for this launch. The magazine hits news stands on May 18th!

Hey Fashionistas, Met Gala dresses! I’m always super excited to see the looks showcased on the red carpet from the Ball. It also always fun to have a healthy debate on who was the best andworst dressed of the evening. Let’s take a look at my choices from the 2012 Met Gala!

This year I’ve put the looks in other of preference with the least at the end of the slideshow. Some of you may be surprised that Beyonce is not one of my top looks this year. Apart from causing a glam frenzy, her Givenchy dress was a tad too over-the-top for my taste. I would have liked to see her in a simplistic vibrant hued gown. What do you think? Vote HERE.

Back to my highs of the night – Jessica Alba, Solange Knowles, Camilla Belle, Sofia Vergara, Cameron Diaz. These women all adorned jaw-dropping dresses and looked breathtaking! Fashion and beauty trends from the night – Fish-tail dresses, burgundy lipsticks and pop of colour.Who stole the show for you? My favourite has got to be Supermodel Karolina Kurkova who wore a sparkling creation custom made by (her stylist on the night) Rachel Zoe.

I absolutely loved the turban accessory. It added a unique twist to her ensemble. Definitely my winning look of the night! Seeing all these dresses just takes me right back to why I adore fashion. It’s all so glamorous getting dolled up whether it’s to a fancy do or a quiet night out!

Hey Fashionistas, Hey Shoe Addicts! Once in a while, I dip into my closet and show you ladies what I’ve been sporting and this time it’s in my favourite accessory to talk about – Shoes!

If you’ve been reading Ruby’s View from the start, well you would know that I can’t get enough of high heels. This season is all about bold and bright colours such as cobalt blue, fuchsia and coral and shoes are a good old trick to use for staying on trend when you still want to be wearing classic hues! Here’s a picture of my mini S/S 12 collection I wanted to share with you girlies.

The coral and pink sandals are from Zara (£29.99), turquoise sling backs are by Christian Louboutin (£675), Fuchsia peep toes from Zara (£29.99), ostrich green peep toes are also by Christian Louboutin (£795) and cobalt blue are from Zara (£39.99). I’m in love with the colour-blocking sandals at the moment. They would instantly update an old LBD.

Yesterday, I had a fun day out with my blogger friend Peony Lim in Knightsbridge. I wore a power shoulder blazer from Warehouse, blouse from Zara and Sass & Bide leggings all in black and added a pop of colour with these sandals! Mind you, they are really comfortable for a shopping trip.
